I have the monour to transmit herewith

copies of two letters which we have received from

Mr. R. Roddick, Lance Sergeant of Police, Hong Kong,

asking for permission to apply for a situation in

the Police forces in England, or for an appointment

in some other Colony, and to enquire what reply should

be sent to him. Our letter of the 26th of March

to which Mr. Roddick's second letter is a reply asked

him whether he had re-engaged for further service in

Hong Kong.
